10 Things I Never Travel Without

If you know me at all you’ll know travel is one of my passions. I love exploring new places and sharing them with y’all via Instagram and here on my site. Recently while traveling around the UK I’ve been living out of a relatively small suitcase. During this summer I’ve learned a lot about packing, the things you need, and the things that just take up extra space. I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 things that I never travel without.

1. Luggage

One of the obvious essentials you need to travel, well other than a passport, is a good piece of luggage. My family and I are obsessed with the North Face Base Camp Duffles! They come in four different sizes and there are so many colour choices. I usually use a medium one if I am traveling solo, however when we travel as a family we tend to use a few large or extra larges.

2. Back Up Charger

Whether traveling 2000 miles from home or 20 no one wants their phone to die while on the go. Bring a battery charger, like this one, while traveling to ensure you never run out of battery.

3. Sunglasses

There is nothing worse than being blinded by the sun! Sunglasses keep your eyes free from UV rays by packing a pair of sunnies.

4. Toiletries

Imagine you’ve been traveling for 12 hours to get to your destination, you open your bag to find your shampoo has spilled all over your clothes! Avoid this common travel catastrophe by getting a toiletry bag! Are you spill prone? Go for a leak proof one! Not all toothbrushes are created equal, and when it comes to choosing a travel toothbrush I recommend ToothStars.  Not only is it the perfect tool to finding a toothbrush to suit you and your needs it also has a blog full of useful tips to help you take care of your teeth.

5. Travel Guides

While my city guides will definitely help you out while trip planning sometimes you need some more information. Lately I’ve been using the Lonely Planet Guides. Whether you are coming across the pond to the UK, doing a European adventure, or heading to South America theres guide for you!

6. Water bottle/Travel Mug

Many European countries are cutting down on the use of single use plastic. Don’t get caught out by extra plastic fees, bring your own water bottle or mug. Any water bottle or camping mug will do, while keeping your bag light.

7. Books

Whether you are traveling by plane, train, or automobile books are essential! On my train ride to Newcastle the man sitting across from me had a whole suitcase of books! He would read a bit of one, get up, and get another.

8. A Notebook

You have no control over when inspiration hits so be ready by keeping a small note-book with you. Most of my ideas for instagram photos and blog posts come randomly to me while on the road. I usually keep a small notebook and planner so I can stay on top of my projects and posts.

9. Burt’s Bees

I always have at least one chapstick with me when traveling, especially when traveling in the winter months.

10. Extra Space

This is the number one important item on this list! Having extra space in your luggage gives you freedom to bring things back; be it a Starbucks City Mug, piece of local art, or even snacks exclusive to that locale.

So there you have it; my top 10 things to bring when traveling! As always if you have any specific questions or comments, send them my way! I’d love to hear what you think.

Yours Truly,

Adam Briggs
