Race Day Shopping with intu Chapelfield | AD

When intu Chapelfield reached out to me about creating a race day worthy look, I jumped at the opportunity. I was challenged to put together an outfit worthy of Ladies day at the Great Yarmouth Race Course and to show that you can look good for less. After my visit to Chapelfield last week I’m race day ready. With a budget of £75 I managed to buy shoes, a shirt, and a pair of trousers, then paired it with a light brown belt and a navy blazer which I already had in my wardrobe. Chapelfield is a Norwich staple and my go-to place to shop in the city. The extensive and diverse range of shops mean that whether you are looking for a individual piece or creating a whole outfit, there are plenty of choices available.

After arriving at the centre I headed straight to House of Fraser, with the plan of working our way from one side to the other. After walking around the menswear department, nothing really caught my eye, and I already had a pretty solid idea of what I was looking for. Next stop River Island where I found these fantastic trousers that are a perfect Autumn/Winter transitional piece! The subtle hints of mustard yellow bring the pattern together nicely and I can already tell these are going to be worn a lot. They cost £38, and are the most expensive piece of the outfit, but they were definitely worth the price.

Now that I had found the jazzy trousers, I needed something a bit more subdued to blend the navy blazer and the trousers together. After popping into Hollister, I decided on a slim fit white shirt, which fitted perfectly, and was reduced from £29 to £21.99. I had originally thought that finding shoes would be the most difficult part of the challenge however after spending fives minutes in H&M I had already found these at the bargain price of £14! They are almost the exact same shade as my belt and tie the look together nicely.

Working with intu Chapelfield made shopping a breeze and I can’t wait to wear this outfit to the races! I’ll be there all afternoon Style Spotting for the Best Dressed person, so if you see me there come say hey!
